Writing
My grandparents gave me a little, blue plastic typewriter when I was 9 or 10. The first thing I did with it was write a handful of 300-400 word stories. Epic in scope and, well, let's say economical in description, these were my first forays into the world of writing.

The act of writing itself is one I enjoy, and I've been lucky enough to do it for a number of different reasons. I've written fiction, screenplays, TV and Radio advertising, gaming content, brochure copy, editorials and more.

To the right are a few samples of different types of writing I've done. If you'd like to something more or something from a different field, please email me and I'll be happy to provide more samples.

Thanks for looking, and don't hesitate to contact me for any project you have in mind.

Steam rose from the smooth black surface, the misty exhalations of a thousand tiny mouths. That the river had a mouth he was certain. It would expel things on occasion – the trunks of drowned trees, battered canoes, a thousand silver cans stripped clean on their journey and presented up as glittering nonsense toys for the young to exclaim and the old to lament.

Occasionally it would also suck things in.

But I’m sidetracking myself. The point of the space program is that it represents, to me at least, the ability of the human beings to think beyond their own immediate needs; the ability of the human race to dream and plan and aspire to something more than filling our bellies and getting that hot new Xbox game. It says that sometimes – only sometimes mind you – we are willing to see if our reach can exceed our grasp.

Every child understands that magic is simply the manipulation of the world and every child understands the basics of doing so. Reality is malleable and can be shaped. However, reality is elastic and will resume its shape eventually. Sorcerers, hedge-wizards and herb-women make use of magic with the understanding that on any given spell their grip on reality may slip and the fabric of the world may rebound – with disastrous consequences. The Locksmiths have made a science of shaping the world and “locking” that shape, making spells more stable and permanent. Those who choose the path of the Locksmith spend their whole lives in training, for to make the journey from Knotman to Master Locksmith can take decades or more.
